Eco Action Team

Our Student's Eco-Action representatives have been working really hard to make sure our school and local community is as environmentally and as eco-friendly as possible.

Having achieved the Green Flag award in July 2015 we are thrilled that we maintained the high standards and were re-awarded this honour in 2018.

This year we are continuing to monitor the use of energy in school, as we would like to keep our current position of the most energy saving primary school in St Helens LA.

We are also encouraging everyone to recycle, and to look after the school grounds by putting their litter in the bins.

Steph from the Merseyside Forest helped us plant over 200 saplings on our school field in November.

Our latest project is a small pond in the area near the shed, which we are soon going to add some plants to in the hope of attracting wildlife to the garden.

During the Spring term we have lots of support from Scott, Lyme Park's Ranger. Thsi has included:

*digging over the planters and sowing vegetable and flower seeds

*supporting the local tree planting work

*working on a whole-school competition to design signage for Lyme Park to include a native animal and a fact

We have also carried out a litter pick. Next half term, we will be designing 'no litter' posters for around school and leading an assembly about all children having the right to a clean environment.
