Y2 2017 - 2018

Mr Thompson

We are a class of 29 energy filled and eager Year 2 children. We work with Mr Thompson, Tracy and Mrs Bradbury.

Our Learning Challenge for Autumn 1 (September-October 2017) is: Why did Samuel Pepys bury his cheese?

In this learning challenge we will find out all about the Great Fire of London and why it was so important in British History. We now have moved our learning forward by finding out who Samuel Pepys was and that he wrote a very important diary! We are also looking forward to seeing the Home Learning challenge of building your own houses for the end of this half term!

In our Art lessons we will also be looking at Silhouette artwork and in particular at the Artist Kara Walker. By half term we are hoping to create our own fire silhouette artwork to link both our Art and History topics. We will post some pictures soon- watch this space!

In our Values learning we will be focusing on the value of Peseverance. We also elected our School Councillors and Eco Councillors this week.

Well done to Logan and Maisy (School Councillors) and James and Daniela (Eco Councillors). We know that you will be fantastic representatives for Year 2.
