Year 4

Maths Everywhere

We went into the playground to do a maths quiz. We had to do things like count how many two dimensional shapes we could find on the basketball court. We had to find out how many daffodils there were and then double the number three times.

We also made Egyptian bread. We had to weigh out 500 grams of special flour, 300 millilitres of water and 1 teaspoon of salt. Baking the bread was great fun.

My favourite activity was playing an Egyptian maths game. We played pyramid maths where you have to find the missing number on the brick. We also played an Egyptian game using hundreds, tens and ones. I won every game. I wish it could be maths day everyday.
