Today in Foundation Stage we had our very own bonfire! We built it outside and talked about how to be safe around a real flame! We knew to not touch it or even get too close and talked about what we should wear to keep us safe! We toasted some marshmallows and had a great time.
Date: 23rd Oct 2019 @ 5:22pm
We had a lot of fun scooping the insides of the pumpkins out and talking about how it felt in our hands! We then looked at some designs and drew a face for the teachers to cut out. Mr Widdowson's attempt was not very good!
We also made some spooky food with Mrs Bloxham. What made it spooky? The Taste!
Making funny faces! (Out of shapes!)
Date: 11th Oct 2019 @ 11:29am
We've been making some funny faces using the 2D shapes we've been learning about. We wonder if you can make any at home?
Date: 1st Oct 2019 @ 8:26am
This week our Science Experiment was to fill a bag with water and stick some sharp pencils through it! The children thought it would "explode" or "pop" but it actually did nothing! (until we took the pencils out!)
One of the bags did already have a little hole so it leaked through there so we are going to retry this tomorrow with a leakproof bag!
Nursery Singing for French Day!!

Date: 25th Sep 2019 @ 7:32am

Date: 24th Sep 2019 @ 5:34pm
We've had a fantastic time at Stay and Play. A huge thanks to all the parents who have come and stayed, we hope you've had fun seeing what your child gets up to in school!

Problem solving with capacity and water!
Date: 18th Jul 2019 @ 8:07am
We spent Wednesday exploring different problems using water - how could we quickly fill the different buckets, could we do it from far away, could we fill it without losing any of the water?
Looking back at our writing in Reception
Date: 16th Jul 2019 @ 9:21am
In Reception we’ve been talking about “Growth Mindset” and how we need to think positively about our work and learning. Today we decided to look back through our writing books to see how much we have improve this year. We are so proud of ourselves! If you want to come and see them as well just ask at the end of the day!
Date: 10th Jul 2019 @ 8:00am
We had a great (if a bit wet) time at the beach! It was really fun walking to the sea, on the way we even saw some jelly fish! After tiring our legs out we had lunch but unfortunately it began to rain so we had to cut it a little short (and miss our ice creams) to come back.
We got our ice creams the next day!

Date: 28th Jun 2019 @ 12:24pm

What a fantastic morning we had in Foundation Stage! We had a brilliant time at Sports Day, everyone was brilliant and we are so proud of them for taking part (with a few tears).

The most exciting day in Foundation EVER!
Date: 26th Jun 2019 @ 3:46pm
Today has been the most exciting day we've had all year in Foundation Stage! We've been on the giant inflatable obstacle course (which began to deflate as we got off!).
We got a visit from some firemen who taught us how to stay safe and let us have a ride in the fire engine AND use the hose! (Remember their challenge, ask your parents if you have a fire alarm at home!).
Then in Reception we got to practise riding and performing tricks on some scooters! Liam would like to say a huge well done to all the children but especially to Lola for making up her own trick!

Date: 24th Jun 2019 @ 3:43pm
Today to start health and well-being week we’ve been making potions to make us feel healthy and then we tried some new (and delicious!) tasty food. Ask us which we enjoyed the most!
Date: 24th Jun 2019 @ 3:35pm
We were also visited by the dentist, who told us what it’s like when we visit and showed us how to clean our teeth properly!
Can you answer these questions-
How many times a day do we need to clean our teeth?
How long for?
Should we rinse with water at the end?
What size should our blob of tooth paste be?
Date: 24th Jun 2019 @ 9:37am
We were very lucky to be visited by some of our local PCSOs in Foundation Stage this morning! They’ve been teaching us all about staying safe on the roads and Stranger Danger! We learned all about how to keep ourselves and our friends safe when we are out and about.
Date: 19th Jun 2019 @ 3:39pm
It's been a busy week as we also made some cakes too!! Ask us how they tasted!

Date: 11th Jun 2019 @ 4:46pm
In Reception we were reading the story of 'Peace at Last' by Jill Murphy, which we created a story map of and performed for our website (see the link below!). After doing this we decided to make a sequel to the book with Mr Bear trying to have a sleep over in our school and lots of different things happening to keep him awake. When we had finished we turned this into our own book and decided to send a copy to Jill Murphy to show her how much we loved her story and how hard we had worked on our own!
Today we received a lovely parcel in the post, with a letter from Jill Murphy telling us how much she enjoyed our writing. She also included some of her books which we are very excited to read! We are very grateful to Jill Murphy for writing back to us, take a look at the letter below in the pictures!

We went outside to look for the Easter Bunny. When we got back to class he had sneaked in and left us some sweet treats. We were very excited. 🐰🐰

Another fantastic parade this year! We were really impressed with all the fantastic hats once again! It was a really difficult decision for Linda and Mrs Marshall to choose just a couple of favourites as they were all so good! A huge thanks to all the children and parents for taking part in the fun!
