SPORTS' COUNCIL AUTUMN 1
During this half term, the sports' council have been extremely busy.
Firstly, we discussed which after school clubs children would like to have after half term. The children took this discussion back to their classes and fed back the results to me. The information provided has resulted a few new sports being on offer next half term.
Similarly, there has been a lack of sports equipment on the playground for children to use over the last couple of years. Once again, sports council members spoke to their individuals classes to generate ideas for what they'd like. After half term, some of the equipment suggested will be avaliable for children to use at break times during the day.
Lastly, our sports council members, along with several other members of year 5, have undergone training over the past couple of weeks to become playground leaders. This has involved them creating bespoke games and activities for Lyme students to play at break times. The final part of the training is on Friday where the children will perform their games that they have created for the Sports Development Officer for St. Helens.
It's been a great half term for the Sports' Council. I'd like to thank them for their hard work.
